COMIC BOOK INK Nominated for the 2007 WILL EISNER SPIRIT of RETAILING AWARD!!!!
I came into the shop this
morning and sorted through the mail...and found PRIORITY MAIL Package
with the following letter enclosed:
" Dear Retailer,
Congratulations! Your store has been nominated for the 2007 Will Eisner
'Spirit of Comics' Retailer Award. This award was created by Will Eisner
as a way to honor the hard work put in by comic book store owners.
Enclosed you will find a 'Request for Documentation'. This request explains
what you will need to send in if you chose to participate.
The award will be presented during Comic-Con International's Eisner Awards
on Friday night, July 27th at the San Diego Convention Center. I hope
to see you there."
This is our third nomination in a row since 2005 and I can, more than ever,
only attribute this honor to the incredible team of Staff (Alex, Billy,
Bill and Chris), the Comic Book Creator's who have visited our shop, our
committed 'Group of Angels', our unwavering landlord, our community partners
(Pierce County Library and Regal Cinemas), our ever-supportive group of
caring customers and, most of all, my loving family!
This shop would not be what it is if not for each and every one of you...and,
believe me, I do not say that without the humbleness that comes with having
met each and every one of you.
