After 2 Years and 9 Months at our original home in the incredible Proctor District, Comic Book Ink move to its new home in the Johnsborough Station Shopping Center. We miss our old home everyday, but love the new neighborhood we have been lucky enough to have been made a part of. The shop is twice the size of the old one and we are thrilled to be adding new stuff to the space every day. We hope you come and visit us soon!
" We would like to take this opportunity to thank the more than 39 Comic Book Ink Subscribers and Regulars who helped us with the move from our old shop to the new one. Because of their dedication and support we were able to move in ONE DAY and be open for business the next day at our new shop. Both myself, and the staff of Comic Book Ink, will be forever grateful to each and every one of them." --John Munn
It seems like yesterday..or at least a few months ago...that we first started to paint our first shop on October 1st, 2002.
But we knew we had found the best home we could possibly hope for in North Tacoma's Proctor District. A number of Business Owners in the area were right there for moral support and with best wishes. It is proof positive what a wonderful part of Tacoma that the shop is located in. With a number of small shops dedicated to customer service and a family atmosphere, we felt like we were joining a true community.
In less than two years, we have:
--Been visited by Adam Kubert and Brian Michael Bendis
--Had incredible press coverage in the Tacoma Morning News Tribune (www.tribnet.com) and Fort Lewis Ranger
--Been covered in Wizard Magazine (www.wizardworld.com) ...the Comic Book Industry standard in reporting... about Adam Kubert's visit, view article here.
--Participated in two Free Comic Book Days (www.freecomicbookday.com).
--Participated in two Proctor Treats events during Halloween for the kids
--Sponsored "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare--Abridged" at Tacoma Little Theatre (www.tacomalittletheatre.com).
--Donated to a number of local events and charities including area Schools
--Reached three hundred (300) happy subscribers
And none of it...absolutely none of it...would have been possible if not for the generous, and continued, support of our store regulars and subscribers. Thank you to one and all.
And the future? Well, keep coming back and check on our progress!!
